Admissions: How to Enroll
Any person who has a working knowledge of the English language may enroll in a Citizens' High School course. Citizens' does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, sex, color, ethnic or national origin.
Since Citizens' is open year-round, students may enroll at any time. To receive a no-cost, school information packet, you should complete the Inquiry Form in this Website.
Included in this free packet is general information about Citizens' High School and our programs along with an enrollment agreement. Full instructions on enrolling and completing the enrollment agreement is included with the enrollment packet.
If after receiving the school's information packet you have further questions about our programs, feel free to call, write, E-mail, or fax the school at any time. We will be more than happy to answer all your questions over the phone, or we will promptly respond to your written, faxed, or E-mail questions. See "Mail and Phone Support" in this website for any phone numbers or addresses needed.
To enroll for one or more individual courses, students should complete the Citizens' Individual Course Program section on the CHS Enrollment Agreement and mail it with a check or money order for the tuition to the school.
Important: If you are planning to use Citizens' individual courses toward another school's diploma, be sure that school will accept the Citizens' High School credit(s) toward graduation. Written approval from a high school counselor or principal must be obtained before enrolling in any Citizens' High School course(s). Citizens' cannot accept responsibility for enrollment in incorrect courses or changes in requirements by other schools.
To enroll in the high school diploma program, students should complete the Citizens' High School Diploma Program section on the CHS Enrollment Agreement and mail it with a check or money order for the tuition to the school.
The first course materials will be sent to you when the tuition payment and enrollment agreement are received by the school. Course material will be sent USPS "Media Mail" rate unless other arrangements have been made with the school.
Each course of study includes a study guide that contains directions for the students' reading, study, writing, and submission of exams to the school. Important: If the first course materials are not received within four weeks from the time the enrollment agreement is sent to the school, please notify the school immediately.
Upon enrollment acceptance by the school, a new student packet will be sent to you containing:
- Your enrollment acceptance letter and other enrollment information and forms*;
- The CHS Student Handbook, which outlines how you can get the most from your studies and important procedures for completing the program;
- The Citizens' High School Bulletin (school catalog), which contains school policies, procedures, and course descriptions;
- A Curriculum Report listing the core curriculum subjects to be completed by you for a Citizens' High School diploma and a Subject Review Form to select electives, if any.
*A Transcript Request Form will also be included for those students who wish to receive credit for subjects previously completed in grades 9-12, and have not yet requested that grade transcripts be sent to us for evaluation from the previous school(s) attended.
The Transcript Request Form is to be filled out and signed and sent to your previous high school(s) so an official grade transcript can then be sent to us. Your first subject (usually English based on the grade level you will be starting with Citizens') will be sent to you so you can get started pending receipt of your transcript.
Upon the receipt and evaluation of your grade transcript(s) for previously completed credits, you will receive a Curriculum Report listing the core curriculum subjects to be completed for your Citizens' High School diploma and a Subject Review Form to select electives, if any.
The enrollment agreement, tuition payment and any other inquiries and correspondence should be mailed to:
