In 1701 the Pennsylvania Colony received its first
Constitution. Thirty years later the design for
Independence Hall in Philadelphia was completed.
The First Continental Congress (Sept. 5-Oct. 26,
1774) met in Carpenter's Hall, Philadelphia, and
Peyton Randolph was chosen to preside. The meeting's
general purpose was to express colonial grievances
against British policy, and only a few radical members
considered the possibility of breaking with England.

Now three centuries later we proudly introduce you
to another radical thinker who broke with tradition.
This is Nichole Surdykowski. She hails from Philadelphia,
PA and embodies the spirit of this fine city. Nichole
found the government run schools to restrictive
and confining. She had strong desires to acquire
her high school education though independent resources.
She chose Citizens'’ High School as a means
to that end. This revolutionary spirit completed
her last year of high school with us in the comfort
and security of her own home. Like any good revolutionary,
she has recruited friends to enroll in Citizens'’
High School. We are grateful for her efforts.
With her diploma in hand, she is now focusing her
sights on a college degree with an emphasis in Early
Childhood Education. Nichole wants to be involved
with the learning development of children. Perhaps
her influence will usher in a new assembly of radical
thinkers.
We congratulate Ms. Surdykowski and express our
pride in her and in her accomplishments. We anticipate
a bright and colorful future for her. This free
thinker is Citizens'’ High School
Graduate of the Month for April 2001.
