MARCH is named for the Roman God Mars, who was
the god of war and guardian of the state. Many important

creating Mount Rainier National Park in central
Washington.

siege.

the first successful experiment with the telephone.

the celestial equator, marking the vernal equinox

Finally, we celebrate Jamie R. Liccardi as Citizens'’
High School’s Graduate of the Month for March
2001.
Of all the important events that happen over time,
one significant event is our high school graduation.
Ms. Jamie Liccardi did just that last August with
Citizens'’ High School. She completed her
senior year through distance education. She chose
this route because it was important for her to be
able to study at her own pace. That rarely happens
in traditional high school formats. Jamie was able
to better absorb the material at her own pace, and
do it at her kitchen table. She also appreciated
the convenience of HOMESTUDY.
Jamie told us that finishing her high school requirements
and receiving her diploma has ”given me a
higher level of self-esteem and the confidence to
set more goals, because I know now that I can achieve
them.” Jamie’s experience with Citizens'’
was so positive that she recommended it to her younger
brother. David Liccardi needed some classes to catch
up with his peer group. He took three classes from
Citizens'’ and was able to catch up with and
graduate with his public high school class.
Jamie is fond of writing, especially poetry. She
hopes to someday publish her poems. For now, she
has her sights on the fashion industry. She wants
to design clothing lines. We are confident that
if she attacks this goal as she did the goal of
finishing high school, the fashion industry will
soon have a fresh, new look. We here at Citizens'’
are very proud of Jamie and are grateful that we
could help her in achieving an important moment
in her history. Jamie will accomplish many milestones
in the future with confidence and a strong self-esteem.
For that we proclaim that March is Jamie’s
month as she is our.
Graduate of the Month for March 2001.
