Citizens'’ High School’s new millennium
begins with a tribute to the first GRADUATE OF THE
MONTH. Join is in congratulating Ms. Ternile N.
Carter from Springfield, Louisiana. Ternile graduated
Last January. She was only a Citizens'’ student
for a short time. She enrolled with Citizens'’
to finish the last year of high school. She accomplished
this in only five months. Ternile is a testament
to what can be accomplished when one sets a goal
and keeps focused on it.
Ms. Carter told us she chose Citizens'’ Distance
Learning Program because traditional high school
presented too many distractions from a quality education.
“I was much more comfortable studying in my
own home.” She was also more successful too
as evidenced by her academic record and the time
she took to complete her last year.
Ternile is now working two jobs as a security guard.
She is doing this to save money for college. Yes,
our graduate has set another goal. She wants to
become a Registered Nurse. Nursing is not only challenging
but requires an intense study strategy to be triumphant.
We here at Citizens' have no doubts that Ternile
will succeed in nursing and in life. She has demonstrated
commitment, evidenced by finishing high school early
on her own. She has shown determination by not succumbing
to the peer pressure to quit school. And finally,
she has revealed maturity beyond her years by working
and saving for the future. It is because of these
qualities Citizens' High School takes great pride
in announcing Ms. TERNILE N. CARTER as our 1st Graduate
of the Month for the new millennium.
